A what? Shypreneur - I'm patting myself on the back for making up a brand-new word - we'll I couldn't find it on Google so it must be new!
I'm referring to entrepreneurs who are shy on the inside, introverted extroverts and those of us who find putting our faces out there, a real struggle.
I'm firmly in this camp myself and the thought of appearing in a photo, reel, selfie, has my heart racing and my palms sweating (perhaps why I hide behind the camera, don't tell anyone)
Feeling the pain of a shy-preneur but also recognising that it's essential for your brand to put yourself out there - here's how you can make a Personal Brand photoshoot easier and even, dare I say, enjoyable.
This is me - a true shy-preneur
Choosing somewhere that is familiar to you (as well as suits your brand). the familiarity will help reduce the anxiety and you may be able to recommend quieter spots or areas to your photographer giving you a little control and confidence.

Working with a photographer who understands your feelings will make it a much better experience. Choose someone who will be your cheerleader, create a positive atmosphere and adapt to your needs.
Having a planning meeting or consultation is essential ahead of any Branding shoot but even more important for those of us feeling a little unsure. These sessions are so the photographer can understand your brand, your brand personality, and your ideal client and design a photoshoot with these in mind. It's also a get-to-know-you session and your opportunity to express your reservations and design a working partnership
Begin the photoshoot with candid shots to capture more natural and unposed moments to ease you into the session gently

Bringing props or setting up a demonstration of you doing your thing can make the shoot more natural and less intimidating. These shots also give your customer an idea of what it's like to work with you.

You are you, and you are fabulous and this is what your ideal client will be drawn to. Your photos and poses (I use that term loosely) should feel comfortable to you and not stiff and out of place.

We all have that friend or family member who is cheering us on - why not take them along to the shoot for support, bag holding and reassurance?! When they make you laugh it will make a great natural photo.
