Celebrating January and February Birthdays

Winter birthdays can be bleak for mums of January & February babies. We realise it’s not the easiest month for family and friends to splash out on birthday presents, and we're all recovering from Christmas and New Year celebrations. But that's no excuse, everyone deserves to feel special on their birthday and here are our top tips for a magical winter birthday!!

Party ideas

Winter or Frozen Theme

Not just an excuse to keep the Christmas decorations up for longer, but a sensible way to decorate the party without blowing your budget,  so you can spend the money Elsa where (see what I've done there). Frozen is always a popular theme, but if their not a fan of the movie make it more Winter Wonderland, you can use some of your Christmas decorations remembering it's a winter theme (not Christmas) so make it about trees, snow and ice! Choose a colour scheme - ice blue and white is perfect - and go for it!!

Games

Snowflakes - Get the kids to make their own snowflakes and hang them up - they can take them home with them later (less clearing up for you). Make them from lollypop sticks or paper - The Best Ideas For Kids has some great examples.

The Chocolate Game - A game kids all love!! It's all about dressing up and trying to cut up and eat a chocolate bar with a knife and fork. Appropriate for ages 6+ Dress them in a wool hat, scarf and gloves and watch the fun! - Full details from The Activity Village

Food

Now you can easily get carried away here, one quick look for 'winter themed party food' on Pinterest and you'll have more ideas than you need. But if you want to keep it stress-free think Hot Chocolate and marshmallows (yes please!!) and regular party food. I mean, just look at this idea from Wide Open Eats

Gift ideas

Of course, there may be the odd toy that Santa forgot to bring, but if the toy cupboard is full why not consider an experience and a gift that will create memories.

Sledging - there isn't much snow at the moment but you can have loads of family fun while sledging at Snozone

Photoshoot - well we're not going to pass up the opportunity to mention our fun photoshoots!! From 6th January to 14th February 2020 our mini sessions are just £55 to include 4 digital images of your choice - now those are memories that will last for every! Drop us a message to book
