There is nothing like an inspiring book to get you motivated in business. Taking some time to stop, breath and read gets me motivated and ready to take on the world, or listening to an audiobook in the car can motivate me through the day. There'll be monthly recommendations from me, awesome women I have worked with and our social media family on our Facebook and Instagram pages, updating this blog as we go. These are not necessarily books focused on business, just books that lift you up. These might be:

What a corker this one is!! Recommended to me by Jen, I got an audiobook via Audible so I can listen to it in the car, while I'm editing, I even listen to it on a night. Endorsed by Oprah Winfrey who says 'Millions of young women look to Marie Forleo as their inspiration for empowerment and achievement', this book will help you overcome fears and even obstacles you've created but don't even realise are there!!
It has certainly given me a kick up the jacksy and opened my eyes to figuring stuff out instead of ruling them out!!

This is one for all you Law Of Attraction fans! Some of you may recognise Jack Canfield from The Secret movie, he's also quoted in the book and author of the Chicken Soup For The Soul book series - I think that makes him a real LOA expert. I actually like this book more than The Secret, it's explained in simple terms with the bonus of guiding you through how to use it in your own life. It's a book I've read many times and this has just prompted me to get it out again.

I'd heard such a lot about this Sunday Times and New York Times best seller, and got straight online to order my copy. What a treat it turned out to be. It's suitable for kids, but certainly isn't just for kids. Full of quotes and short stories of hope, it's a book you can read together or, like me, read with a cuppa. You can pick it up and put it down, start in the middle or read it over and over again. The illustrations are hand drawn by the author, Charlie Mackesy, and include coffee cup rings which only add to the charm. It's a book I go back to time and time again when I want to just take moment - it really gives you that calm, feel good.. erm... feeling.

I was lucky enough to hear a talk by Joelle at a networking event. I was blown away by her ideas and generosity with her knowledge. I quickly joined her Facebook group Creative Cash - Earn More From Your Creative Business and got a copy of her book 'Creative Cash' which has been a complete eye-opener and business game-changer. Geared around passive income and guiding you through the different options you have to build a passive income stream to complement your business, this book is packed full of ideas for your business, step by step guides and recommended resources to set you on your way.

This book was recommended to me by a friend who I already consider to be an inspiration (Gemma Herron, shout out to you), so when she recommends a book I take note. The author speaks from experience and is honest (and hilarious) about her early days floating around, working for herself, kipping on her friend's sofa and honestly believing that scraping by was the compromise for the privilege of self-employment (can you relate). Jen Identified and changed her self-sabotaging beliefs and behaviours to create the life she really wanted. In this book, she helps you recognise your own self-sabotaging beliefs (we're all very good at that), guides you through with exercises and top tips that give many 'a-ha' moments - This book will help you find your inner BADASS!! I first read this on Kindle and then got the Audiobook so I can listen to her no-nonsense and occasionally sweary advice, on the move. I've paid the recommendation forward and bought the paperback version for several of my badass friends, one of who went on to get a daily dose of badass inspiration with the quotes calendar (who doesn't love a motivational quote). Check out the links below and find your inner BADASS!!

When I first got this book I didn't really know who Rachel was, but reading this book turned me into such a fangirl!. Full of brutally honest tales about her struggles and insecurities, mixed with humour and a real kiss ass attitude, Rachel is very relatable. She never went to college, doesn't have any high flying corporate experience behind her - she learnt all she needed for free on Google and built an empire from there. I often have this playing in the car - I'm on fire by the time I turn up to my next job! Give this NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER a squiz on the link below and see what I'm talking about. Happy Reading!
