Why Is Personal Brand Photography Important?

The photos you use give your customers the first impression of you and your business - Good or Bad!! With the help of a very delicious scenario, we're going to look at why personal brand photography is important for your business.

Cue the scenario - Ok, so Imagine this....

You’ve had a busy day, you are hungry but on a mission to stay healthy, so you head, as planned, to the healthy food café.

With a quick scroll through Instagram on the way, you spot a photo posted by the new café in town and STOP THE SCROLL!! There, staring right back at you, a photo of the most delicious, freshly baked cake being taken out of the oven. So fresh, you can imagine the smell and….. all of a sudden YOU WANT ONE!! GOT TO HAVE ONE, after all, it won’t be oven-fresh for long.

I’m willing to bet your next move is to change direction and get one of those cakes fresh from the oven (anyone else now feeling hungry? Sorry).

Notice what just happened in your decision-making process (and willpower)? You see a photo and you want what’s in the photo, it’s that simple!

As humans, we are visually orientated and we shop with our eyes (note to self, unfollow all local bakeries).

Now put this situation in your personal brand and business and think about it! What do your images say about you and your business, would they stop the scroll and draw the customer in?

A great place to start is by taking our free brand imagery challenge to see if your imagery is hitting the mark.

While you post occasional headshots, product photos or random stock images found on the internet -  you are missing a massive opportunity to connect with your audience.

Through your brand photography, you’re giving your customer the opportunity to get to know you, what you stand for and what it would be like to work with you.

If people feel as though they know like and trust you, they’re 10 times more likely to buy into what you’re offering and choose you over anyone else (choosing cake over the intended salad). and I think we'll all take those odds.

Professional personal brand photography can help you build this trust with your audience and of course, I want to help you achieve this. I love to work collaboratively to create a library of on-brand images for my clients, that tell their story.  So if you'd like to join me for a consultation (and of course cake) drop me a message and we'll arrange to chat about your brand imagery.  You can see more information about personal brand photography with me, including our packages, on our website.

In the meantime, you can learn how to take your own on-brand portraits using just your smartphone with our online course, and let your customers see who you are,  and sign up to receive our weekly Top Tips to help bring your imagery on-brand.
