Your brand photos tell the story of you and your brand. Remembering that 'people buy from people' it's important to show the face behind your awesome business, your personality and what it's like to work with you.
With a website and probably several social media platforms to manage, you'll need to refresh your images regularly. We're going to show you have you can create a library of images that you can draw from by either having a professional shoot or taking the photos yourself!!
Sometimes you just want to take a quick photo - perhaps you're at a location that represents your brand, on holiday or at an event and you want a photo of you to show your customers and potential customers where you are. Taking a selfie can be tricky to get right and any images you take should always have your brand identity in mind - our top tips can be found in our FREE download Introduction To DIY Brand Portrait Photography , or you could dive straight into our online course DIY BRAND PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY
As someone who is a little camera shy, I appreciate that it can be so much easier when you have someone (as well as me) to cheer you on and give you confidence. We've teamed up with Connect Wakefield (networking and support for women in business) and regularly organise Mini Branding shoots. An opportunity to meet other awesome women in business, we choose a venue and work in groups to create a series of images that show you and your personality. Join our mailing list and find out by email when we arrange our next session, or join Connect Wakefield on Facebook or Instagram and watch out for the announcements.
Sometimes though you want it to be all about you. In our studio in Morley, Leeds, we offer professional headshots. A simple white background helps to put all the focus on you and we create a series of images that are just about you and your lovely smile. These photos are great for LinkedIn, Bio's and newsletters where it's best to keep it simple with an image that's recognisable.
The above are all great options for updating your headshots but when you're in business you need more than lovely photos of yourself to show your ideal client. With a personal brand photoshoot, you'll be working with your photographer to create photos that tell the story of your brand and give your customers, and potential customers, an idea of what it's like to work with you. These will include photos of you but not always your face, it's important to show you doing your thing, whether that's making something, working at a computer or working with a customer. You might want to show tools of the trade to remove some of the mystery for your customers and show your personality to help connect with your ideal client.
