There's no business like 'The Photography Show' business!!

Writing the blog title has given me a theatrical earworm! Our apologies if it's done the same for you, but I think the subject of this months blog deserves the build up?

Every year we take a trip to The Photography Show at the NEC. It's exciting, inspiring and motivating, you've just got to hold on to those purse strings! Here's what we got up to this year!

Who we spotted

Marian Sterea - International wedding photographer.

We attended his inspiring workshop and picked up some great ideas and tips that we can't wait to try with our Brides and Grooms this year. Including using fairy lights and a perspex sheet to create some really creative shots.

This is the workshop we attended - see if you can spot Kate in the audience.  (Photo by The Photography Show)

Christian Anderl - Portrait Photographer

We also attended a speedlite portrait workshop with Christian Anderl. We just couldn't believe the effects he got with very little equipment. We've been practising already and we're looking forward to trying these new techniques in our portrait sessions and with our Brides and Grooms. (Photograph by The Photography Show)

Wow moment!

The biggest Wow! moment came when we went to a talk by Simeon Quarrie. Known for his amazing wedding photography, he talked us through his process for planning wedding and engagement shoots that tell the couples personal story. Getting to know the couple and storyboarding his ideas helps him to create and tell their story in a photograph. Looking through his photographs we were just speechless. (Photographs by Simeon Quarrie)

New products

Our supplier, Loxley Colour,  pulled out all the stops this year with an amazing display of new and exciting wall art and albums. Watch out for their new products making their way to our studio in the coming months.  (Photography by Loxley Colour)

Couldn't resist

We failed to hold on to our purse strings. Coming home with a new camera, two new lenses and filters - we just couldn't resist the show day bargains - oops!!

We left the NEC feeling inspired and exhausted. Next year we are going to stay over so we can attend even more workshops and learn more for the very best in the business.

Looking forward to next years Photography Show already!
